Best truck bed lights

For you if: you want light in the bed to load or work, you will match the kit to the truck, and you will not add four lamp figures into a kit total.

Skip this page if: you want ditch lights, headlights, or a tailgate brake and turn bar. Skip Diode Dynamics if the truck has no factory bed lights. Skip Baja and Diode Dynamics on a Chevy, Ram, or Ford. Those two kits are Toyota pages. Skip a Nilight Bluetooth claim. TR-09 is wired.

A 60-inch strip sticks to the bed and wires to 12V. A bed-rail cargo kit hangs lamps on the rail. They are both bed lights. They are not the same install, and their brightness lines are not the same unit.

Do not add the lumens

Nilight’s 3900LLM is the marketing line on the product description. The spec table does not call it measured lumens. The 20–22LM per LED line is also on the page. Use both figures as printed. Those two brightness lines are not the same unit.

Baja prints 400 lumens per light. A four-light total is not on the page.

Diode Dynamics prints 800 measured lumens and an 800 lumen peak next to a 10-watt line. The kit includes four lights. The page never says to multiply 800 by the four lights in the kit. Unit weight on the spec table is 0.7 lb and product weight is 1.6 lb. Treat 800 as the lamp line.

A brightest sentence would mix LLM, per-light lumens, and measured lumens. This page does not rank them that way.

What you are actually mounting

Nilight: peel the tape, or use the included hardware. A later package note says nine clear brackets, three per strip. Wire red to positive and black to negative, through the fused switch. 12V DC. IP67 on the spec table. Item length 60 inches. Model TR-09. Not a tailgate signal bar. Putco Blade and Nilight TR-02, TR-03, and TR-04 stay off this page. Those are signal bars, not this strip.

Baja: four rock lights, white or red, on the stock utility track. White and red are finish options on the kit page, not a color-temperature rating. 5.52W and 0.4A are printed. IP, Bluetooth, Kelvin, and lifetime are not.

Diode Dynamics: four Stage Series rock lights, T-slot nuts, and a harness that plugs into factory bed-light wiring. The Tundra page says the lights come on when the tailgate opens, the way factory bed lights do. A 3-wire system and a 3-way switch select low or high. The 800 / 10 W / 1.1 A line is still the lamp line. Lenses are interchangeable. The listing names rock light AH0599 and wiring AS0203. Limited lifetime warranty on that page. IP68. Operating range printed as -40°C to 85°C, which the page also writes as -40°F to 185°F.

Truck match

Nilight does not print a year or a bed length. Three 60-inch strips. Measure the rail or the bedside before you stick them. A short bed can still take a 60-inch strip if the surface is long enough. The page does not name F-150, Silverado, or Tacoma. A review is not a fitment chart.

Baja is a Toyota kit. Tacoma and Tundra only, and the year lines disagree. Story copy through 2024. FITS block: Tacoma 2005–2025, Tundra 2007–2025. Tacoma and Tundra do not share one year range on that page. Do not put this kit on a non-Toyota bed and call it the same part.

Diode Dynamics DD7948, from the Tundra page: 2022 through 2026 Tundra, factory bed lights required. The Tacoma listing is 2024 through 2026. Same rule: no factory bed lights, no kit. A truck without OEM bed lights is not compatible. The light sits about a half inch above the cargo rail. A low-profile cover was not confirmed. The Tacoma listing warns that aftermarket bed covers may interfere. Measure the rail and the cover before you buy.

Pick the strip if the bed has a surface you can stick or bracket, and you will wire 12V yourself. Pick Baja if the truck is a Tacoma or Tundra with the utility track the kit uses, and you accept that the year story and the FITS block do not match. Pick Diode Dynamics only if the truck already has factory bed lights, and you have checked the cover.

Do not reuse a Toyota rock-light kit on a full-size domestic bed and call it the same part number.

Nilight is peel-and-stick plus optional brackets. The page says rain, dirt, and sand, and it prints IP67. Fuse the circuit. The kit includes a 5A blade fuse.

Diode Dynamics wants the factory circuit. Do not splice it onto a bed that never had bed lights and call it the same kit. Covers that move the rail can block a lamp that sits above the rail. Measure.
