Husky vs WeatherTech vs BedRug: Best Truck Bed Mats

For you if: the bed actually works. Lumber, coolers, a generator, a dog crate, camping pads, a toolbox that walks toward the tailgate. You will match year, make, and bed length before you order. You want one of three jobs: a rubberized workhorse that holds cargo, an injection-molded WeatherTech impact liner, or a padded TPO floor you can kneel on.

Skip this guide if: you want a drop-in plastic liner, a spray-in coating, or a universal “fits most beds” rubber sheet. A drop-in is a different product. These three mats are custom-fit bed floors for a named truck, not a plastic tub. Also skip if you were about to order a 6.5-ft or 8-ft mat off a 5.5-ft / 5’7″ pick, put the 2015–2023 WeatherTech pick in a 2024–2026 F-150, or treat the BedRug pick as a guaranteed buy without reading the fit chart. Cab all-weather floor mats are a different buy than the bed.

These are custom-fit bed mats for a named truck. Not “fits most beds.” If the fitment does not name your year and bed length, keep scrolling.

Three materials, three jobs

Husky Heavy Duty Bed Mat is the rubberized workhorse. The Amazon spec table shows Vinyl. Husky calls it rubberized DuraGrip HD rubber. Those are two names for the same part, not one blended material. It is a 1-piece black bed floor for a spray-in or a bare bed. It will not fit a drop-in liner.

WeatherTech ImpactLiner is the TPE impact liner. It uses thermoplastic elastomer and the same injection-molded material as FloorLiner HP. WeatherTech’s F-150 pages call it the same rubber-like material as FloorLiner HP. Amazon is the TPE source. It is the walk-in name if you already bought FloorLiner for the cab.

BedRug Impact Mat is the foam camping floor. TPO (thermoplastic olefin, also called thermoplastic polyolefin) on top of a ¾-inch padded floor. You kneel on it. You sleep a pad on it. It is not the same job as a rubber cargo mat.

Keep the jobs separate. A drop-in plastic liner is not a bed mat. A 6.5-ft mat is not a 5.5-ft / 5’7″ mat. FloorLiner HP in the cab does not make this WeatherTech pick fit a 2024–2026 F-150.

Bed length is the fitment key

On an F-150, 5.5-ft / 5’7″ is not 6.5-ft is not 8-ft. The three short-bed picks here are short-bed examples. A 6.5-ft or 8-ft bed needs its own line on the fit chart, not these three short-bed picks. Amazon and Husky list 5’7″ for the Husky mat. Amazon lists 5.5′ box on the WeatherTech mat. Amazon lists 67.1 bed on BedRug and does not list 5.5-ft or 5’7″ for it. Manufacturer BedRug is 5’7″. Confirm fit for your truck. The same split exists on Silverado, Ram, Tundra, Tacoma, Sierra, Gladiator: the mat is cut for a named bed, not “a truck bed.”

Drop-in, spray-in, painted

Husky 16008 will not fit a drop-in bed liner. Husky sells it for spray-in and for a bed with no liner. WeatherTech ImpactLiner will not work with other drop-in style liners. It is made for painted and spray-in beds, and it may sit over a spray-in. BedRug lists non-liner and spray-in. Manufacturer BedRug: a spray-on bed needs the BedRug Spray-On Bed Liner Adhesion Kit. Amazon does not list an explicit “will not fit drop-in” line for the BedRug mat. If the maker does not list a drop-in skip, do not count on one. Tailgate, generator, aluminum

WeatherTech does not include tailgate coverage on ImpactLiner. Husky’s included line is the heavy-duty bed mat, 1-piece — no tailgate piece on that box line. BedRug’s manufacturer kit is the bed mat and a tailgate mat, hook-and-loop, an adhesive promoter for spray-in, and a tailgate gap-guard hinge. Amazon’s “What’s in the box” line for that BedRug mat says Funnel. That does not match the manufacturer kit. The funnel line is an Amazon glitch, not the mat.

WeatherTech 36912IM does not fit models with an onboard generator or a 400 watt outlet. Husky and BedRug do not list a generator or 400W skip for those mats. If the truck has a bed outlet, start with the WeatherTech skip and confirm the other charts.

A 2015-and-newer F-150 bed is aluminum. It does not rust the way a steel bed rusted. The mat still stops scratches and sliding cargo. Steel-bed trucks (many Silverado, Ram, Tundra, Tacoma, Sierra, Gladiator beds) still rust. The product axis does not change: rubber workhorse, TPE impact, foam camping. Bed length and drop-in vs spray-in still decide the part.

Match year, make, and bed length. Then read the fitment on Amazon and confirm it on the maker’s chart. If your truck is not named, it is the wrong mat.

Aluminum beds do not rust the way steel did. A 2015-and-newer F-150 bed is aluminum. The job of the mat is scratches and cargo that slides, not rust. Steel beds still rust. Buy the mat for grip and impact either way.

Half-ton is not HD. F-150 is not F-250 or F-350 Super Duty. Silverado 1500 is not 2500/3500. Ram 1500 is not 2500/3500. Tundra is not a Tacoma bed. Gladiator is its own Jeep bed. Do not order off the badge on the tailgate if the door sticker says a different truck.

Generations. Husky 16008’s example is 2015–2026 F-150 5’7″. WeatherTech 36912IM’s example is 2015–2023 F-150 5.5-ft only — a 2024–2026 F-150 needs a different WeatherTech part. Amazon lists BedRug’s example for the 2015–2026 F-150. Silverado, Ram, Tundra, Tacoma, Sierra, and Gladiator split by generation the same way: Ram 1500 Classic is not 2019+ Ram 1500. Lightning vs gas. Ford F-150 Lightning and gas F-150 do not always take the same bed mat. Husky lists 2022–2026 Lightning 5’7″ on 16008; Husky’s chart says 2022–2025 Lightning. BedRug lists 2022–2025 Lightning; the manufacturer says 2022–2026 Lightning. WeatherTech 36912IM’s published Amazon fitment names F-150 and F-150 Raptor years, not Lightning. Match year and powertrain.

Drop-in vs spray-in. Husky 16008 will not fit a drop-in liner. WeatherTech ImpactLiner will not work with other drop-in style liners; it is for painted and spray-in beds. BedRug lists spray-in or no liner; a spray-on bed needs BedRug’s adhesion kit. If a plastic drop-in tub is already in the bed, these three short-bed picks are the wrong product.

Pull the mat. Dump the gravel. Husky’s rubberized DuraGrip HD and WeatherTech’s injection-molded liner are the hose-off class — rinse, drain, drop back in. WeatherTech says ImpactLiner is easier to clean than a spray-in. BedRug is a padded TPO floor, not that same rubber hose-off job; dump debris and follow BedRug’s care instructions.
