Who it’s for, and who should skip
For you if: you drive a 2019–2026 Silverado 1500 (or a Sierra 1500), you know whether you have the short or the standard bed, and you’ve picked between a hard fold, a soft trifold and a retractable.
Skip it if: you have an 8-foot long bed. We don’t have a matched cover for that bed yet, so don’t buy a short-bed or standard-bed cover and hope it fits. Skip it too if you drive a 2500 or 3500, because none of these covers are listed for heavy-duty trucks. Carbon Pro bed? Skip the short-bed MX4 and Retrax. Factory side storage? Skip the standard-bed Extang and Retrax. To compare covers across trucks, see best tonneau covers.
Spec table
How they differ
Hard fold (BAKFlip MX4): you can walk on it and it auto-latches. Folded up, it gives you the full bed, but the panels stack in the rear window.
Retractable (RetraxPRO XR): aluminum slats roll into a canister at the front of the bed, so the walls stay usable and nothing stacks against the glass.
Soft trifold (Extang Trifecta 2.0): comes off in seconds. You can’t walk on it, and it won’t secure what’s in the bed.
Fitment gotchas
Bed length: the listings give the short bed as 5’10” (69.9″) and the standard bed as 6’7″ (79.4″). They’re different cuts, so match the one your truck has.
Years: MX4 and the standard-bed Extang are listed for 2019–2026. Retrax is listed for 2019–2025 only.
Tailgate and bed options: all of these titles name the MultiPro and Flex tailgates. Carbon Pro and factory side storage are excluded where noted above.
Half-ton only: a Silverado 1500 isn’t a 2500 or a 3500.

Which cover fits my Silverado bed length?
Short bed (5’10”, 69.9″ listing): MX4 448130 or Retrax T-80481. Standard bed (6’7″, 79.4″ listing): MX4 448131, Extang 92457 or Retrax T-80482. For the 8-foot long bed, we have no matched pick yet.
Does RetraxPRO XR fit a 2026 Silverado 1500?
Not according to its titles. Both Retrax part numbers here, T-80481 and T-80482, are listed for 2019–2025 only.
Does the Extang Trifecta 2.0 fit a Silverado 1500 short bed?
Maybe. The product title names only 2019–20 trucks and gives no bed length. Confirm your year and bed on the fit chart before you buy.
Do these fit a Carbon Pro bed or factory side storage?
The short-bed MX4 and Retrax both exclude Carbon Pro. The standard-bed Extang and Retrax both exclude factory side storage.
Will these fit a GMC Sierra 1500 or a Silverado 2500?
The titles name the Sierra 1500 alongside the Silverado 1500. None of them name a 2500 or 3500.
