Confirm your truck is not a Toyota Tacoma. Confirm stake-pocket / rail shape against the install sheet before you buy. Ladder stops slide into the cross members; set them before you strap the load.

Both. Strap ladders and lumber so they cannot walk forward into the cab glass. An overhead ladder rack is not a substitute for a headache rack if you need window protection. Do not exceed the lower of rack rating and vehicle rating. Re-check clamp hardware after the first loaded trip and after any hard washboard miles.

Keep clamps clean so grit does not chew the rail finish. Retorque after the first loaded runs. Inspect ladder stops and straps before every haul.
