Tesla Hikes Cybertruck Prices $5,000 Overnight — Dual Motor Now $74,990

Tesla raised Dual Motor AWD from $69,990 to $74,990 and Premium AWD from $79,990 to $84,990 on the night of August 24, 2026, and left Cyberbeast at $99,990. Electrek and InsideEVs, both writing August 25, report no hardware change on any of those trims. Kelley Blue Book's Cybertruck deals page, updated September 1, listed no incentives.

That is a $5,000 sticker increase on two of three trims for the same Dual Motor listing Electrek cited from Tesla: 325 miles, 7,500 lb tow, 4.1-second 0-60. We would not buy Dual Motor at $74,990 this week until leftover Lightning and GM EVs have been priced against it.

Tesla added five thousand dollars to Dual Motor and Premium and left the hardware alone. Cyberbeast did not move. KBB listed no national Cybertruck incentive as of September 1. That combination is why leftover Lightning and GM EVs are the trucks to price against this week, not why we would take Dual Motor at the new number.

Who it's for. This sticker is for a buyer who already wanted the stainless Cybertruck, already accepted the shape, and will pay $74,990 for the same Dual Motor that was $69,990 last week. It is also for someone who was shopping Cyberbeast anyway, because that sticker did not move.

Who should skip. Skip Dual Motor this week if you are shopping electric trucks on price. Skip it if you are waiting on a national Cybertruck incentive: KBB's deals page, last updated September 1, 2026, listed none. Skip it if you anchored on Tesla's February Dual Motor brief at $59,990. That truck is now $15,000 above that brief, still with no hardware change reported.

What we'd actually buy. We would not buy Dual Motor at $74,990 this week. We would price leftover Lightning and GM EVs against this sticker first. If the only truck you will sign for is a Cybertruck, Cyberbeast at $99,990 is the trim that did not take the hike. What actually changed

Tesla updated the U.S. Cybertruck configurator on the night of August 24, 2026. Electrek and InsideEVs both dated the story August 25. Dual Motor AWD went from $69,990 to $74,990. Premium AWD went from $79,990 to $84,990. Cyberbeast held $99,990.

Electrek reports that none of the specs moved. The Dual Motor still lists 325 miles of range, 7,500 lbs of towing, and a 4.1-second 0-60 mph time. Same truck, five thousand dollars more.

Electrek also notes the hike narrows the gap between Premium at $84,990 and Cyberbeast at $99,990 from $20,000 to $15,000. That is a trim-ladder change, not a new powertrain.

Tesla's site listed no destination charge on the Cybertruck prices. Destination remains Not published here.

The February brief, and the $15,000 swing

InsideEVs: the cheapest Cybertruck is now $74,990, up $5,000 from the day before their story, and a full $15,000 from the $59,990 Dual Motor Tesla briefly offered in February.

Electrek: Tesla dangled a $59,990 dual-motor AWD variant in February, told buyers it was only for the next 10 days, and pulled it almost immediately. That same dual-motor truck settled back at $69,990. Now it is $74,990. Electrek calls that a $15,000 swing on essentially the same vehicle in a matter of months.

That history is the shopper context. It is not a coupon. KBB on September 1 listed no Cybertruck incentives.

No hardware change, no national deal

Electrek and InsideEVs both report the overnight change as price only. No new motor, no new range claim, no new tow rating in the Dual Motor listing Electrek cited. Premium and Cyberbeast performance figures were Not published in that recap.

Kelley Blue Book's Cybertruck deals page, last updated September 1, 2026, said there are currently no available Tesla Cybertruck incentives. That is the national picture as of this article's date.

Demand context (attributed, not a TruckDaily census)

Electrek, August 25: Tesla built the Cybertruck line at Gigafactory Texas for up to 250,000 units a year and is currently selling less than 20,000 per year, less than 10 percent of that capacity. Electrek also reported Tesla throttling production to avoid inventory, with roughly 3,000 trucks sitting in U.S. inventory.

InsideEVs, August 25: estimated 7,263 Cybertrucks sold in the first half of 2026, down about 32 percent year over year from their comparison. InsideEVs also notes Tesla had planned about 250,000 units annually.

Those are their figures, dated August 25. Tesla did not issue a matching press release with this price hike. The shopper takeaway is simpler: Dual Motor went up $5,000 with no spec change while the national incentive board was empty on September 1.

Electrek's own take is that raising price into weak demand is the opposite of the usual playbook. TruckDaily's take is narrower and about this week: if you are writing a check, price leftover Lightning and GM EVs against the $74,990 Dual Motor before you take Tesla's new number as the market.

Who this sticker is for, in practice

Pay $74,990 for Dual Motor if the stainless body, AWD, 325-mile Dual Motor listing, 7,500 lb Dual Motor tow, and 4.1-sec 0-60 are the truck you wanted last week at $69,990 and you will not shop anything else. You are buying the same listing Electrek cited, five thousand dollars later.

Pay $84,990 for Premium only if you already wanted that trim. It took the same $5,000 hike. Electrek did not recap a different Dual Motor versus Premium range or 0-60 in the listing, so extra Premium hardware stays a configurator question.

Pay $99,990 for Cyberbeast if that was already the truck. It is the only trim that did not move on August 24.

If you were waiting on $59,990 to come back, it has not. February was a brief. September 2 is $74,990 Dual Motor, $84,990 Premium, $99,990 Beast, and no KBB-listed incentive.
