Edge has opened pre-orders on its new CTS4 lineup of in-cab truck monitors and tuners, priced from $599.95 for the Insight CTS4 to $799.95 for the Evolution CTS4, with shipping estimated for November 3, 2026. Edge announced CTS4 on October 22 as the next generation of its CTS platform, succeeding the CTS3, with a bigger 5.5-inch touchscreen, a faster dual-core processor and four versions that range from a plain gauge monitor to a preloaded tuner.

If you run an Edge screen on the dash today, or you want EGTs, trans temp and DPF data your factory cluster never shows, this is the new hardware. Before you pre-order, check two things: the tuning versions are not legal for sale or use in California, and Evolution tuning coverage on Edge’s product pages stops well short of current trucks. Prices, part numbers and fit below come from Edge.

TruckDaily take

Who this is for. Diesel owners who tow and want EGT, transmission temperature, boost and regen data in front of them, and older-truck owners who want maintenance reminders and a backup camera screen their truck never came with. CTS3 Juice with Attitude owners get a cheaper path with the $529.95 upgrade kit.

Who should skip. California owners shopping for tuning, since Edge says the Evolution, Insight+ and Juice upgrade kit are not legal for sale or use there while CARB testing is pending. Owners of late-model diesels looking for preloaded power should skip the Evolution for now, because Edge’s diesel coverage on the product page ends at 2016 Duramax, 2012 Cummins and 2022 Power Stroke. If your CTS3 already shows what you need, the new screen is a nice-to-have, not a fix.

What we’d budget. For a gauge-only setup, $599.95 for the Insight CTS4. For a covered older diesel that you plan to tune, the $799.95 Evolution makes more sense than buying a monitor now and upgrading later. Add pillar mounts, pods or an EGT probe or sensor kit on top, since Edge sells those as accessories.

What Edge announced

CTS4 is a new hardware generation, not a software refresh of the CTS3. Edge moved to a 1.7GHz dual-core 64-bit processor and 2GB of RAM, and says that gets you 50% faster PID changes, a 70% faster cold boot and a monitor screen up in about three seconds. The 5.5-inch screen is up from 5 inches on CTS3 and refreshes live data at 60 frames per second.

Maintenance Minder, one of the most requested features from earlier CTS units, is back. It tracks service intervals you set yourself, and Edge pitches it at older trucks without good factory maintenance reminders. Peak Value Recall stores the highest reading for supported parameters, so you can check peak EGT or trans temp after a pull instead of staring at the screen on the grade.

The unit gets dual USB-C ports, an RCA input and programmable quick-action keys on the back. In Edge’s launch blog, product manager Jacob White says the RCA jack will take any backup camera and that the CTS4 can switch to the camera on its own when the truck goes into reverse, because it reads transmission status through the OBD-II port.

Fit and legality notes

The Insight CTS4 is the broad-fit model. Edge’s blog says it works with nearly any 1996-or-newer domestic truck with an OBD-II port, and Edge rates it as not affecting emissions. It can be upgraded to Evolution or Insight+ later through an internet update.

Tuning coverage is narrower. On the Evolution CTS4 Diesel page, Edge lists 1994-2022 Power Stroke, 2001-2016 Duramax and 2003-2012 Cummins. The Insight+ page lists 1994-2019 Power Stroke, 2003-2012 Cummins and 2001-2016 Duramax. Edge’s October 20 blog gives slightly different Evolution years, including Duramax through 2023, so run your exact truck through Edge’s fit check before you pay.

On the gas side, Edge names select F-150 EcoBoost and 5.0L trucks, Silverado and Sierra 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, GM HD trucks with the 6.0L gas V8, and Ram HEMI trucks through the 2014 model year. Edge says the power gains, tunes and parameters vary by application.

Edge sells the Evolution, Insight+ and Juice upgrade kit under the EPA tampering policy dated November 23, 2020, and marks all three not legal for sale or use in California until CARB issues an Executive Order. CTS4 is sold brand-direct on pre-order, so there are no Amazon links in this story.
